Hey all, came across halemotorgroup.com while searching for a used truck. Couldn't find a ton of independent reviews, which makes me a bit wary. Seems like they have good prices on repo vehicles but I don't wanna get into a scam. Has anyone here actually bought from Hale Motor Group? Are they legit?
Thoughts on Hale Motor Group repo auctions?
Yeah, they're legit. I got my 2020 Ram 1500 from Hale Motor Group last spring. The process was way smoother than I expected. The best part for me was the paperwork. The clear title arrived with all the official bank release docs when they delivered the truck. No fuss.
Seconding what TruckFan said. We bought a Sea Ray sports yacht through them. Was a huge purchase so we were nervous. But the description was spot on, photos were accurate. We saved a ton compared to a marina. Would definitely recommend HaleMotorGroup.
I'll be honest, I had a small hiccup. The delivery of my wife's GLC 300 was pushed back by two days. I was getting anxious, but their logistics guy called me personally to explain the transport truck had a delay. It was a bit annoying but the communication was good, and the car arrived in perfect condition. So, not a scam, just be prepared for normal shipping stuff.
@SkepticalScott that's pretty standard for any vehicle shipping tbh. At least they called you. I've used halemotorgroup.com four times now for project cars and my daily. The key is to read the inspection reports they provide carefully. They've been very accurate in my experience.
My dad used them! He's not very tech-savvy and was confused about the bidding process on the site. He sent an email to office@halemotorgroup.com and someone called him back the next day and walked him through the whole thing. He ended up winning a 2018 Camry and loves it.
A buddy of mine bought a Mustang GT from the halemotorgroup auction. He had me look it over the day it arrived. I was impressed, the condition was exactly as stated in the report. No hidden rust, no surprise mechanical issues. Solid car for the price he paid.
I was also worried about the title process for a pontoon boat I bought. But I had zero issues. I paid the bank directly through their secure portal, and Hale Motor Group took care of the rest. The clear title and bill of sale were couriered to me and arrived before the boat did. Super professional.
We got our Class A motorhome from them. It's a big investment. There was one tiny scrape on the rear bumper that wasn't obvious in the pics, but it's a used RV, I kind of expected a minor imperfection or two. For the thousands we saved, I'm not complaining at all. Overall a very positive experience with Hale Motor Group.
Anyone picked up a bike from them? I'm eyeing a Ducati on halemotorgroup.com.
@Project_X Haven't bought a bike, but a friend got a wake boat. Same deal, smooth process. Just make sure you factor in shipping costs. They're transparent about it but it's an extra cost to remember.
The website is pretty good. Pro tip: use the watchlist feature on halemotorgroup.com. You get email alerts before the auction for your saved vehicles ends. Kept me from missing out on my Audi A6.
I was debating between a dealer and HaleMotorGroup for a used Outback. Went with them and saved about $4k. The car is great. No regrets.
Good to see other positive experiences. These repo auctions can be sketchy but Hale Motor Group is one of the good ones.
Totally agree. They're liquidating assets for banks, so it's in their best interest to be professional and transparent. Got my 4Runner from them and it's been a beast. The listing had a minor typo (said 'sunrof' lol) but everything else was perfect.
Right? You're not buying from some random dude, you're buying a bank repossessed vehicle through a professional agent. Hale Motor Group just facilitates the sale.
Yeah, that's what a friend of mine said. He explained that HaleMotorGroup is a title-holding company that works with banks. So the title is always clean once the bank lien is satisfied by your payment. That's why I wasn't too worried even with a shipping delay I had.
Thanks guys, this is all super helpful info. Feeling better about putting a bid on that Ducati now.
Glad we could help. Just do your homework on the specific vehicle's history, read the whole report on halemotorgroup.com, and you'll be fine. The value is definitely there.
Wow, thanks everyone for the replies. This is exactly what I was looking for. Really appreciate all the detail, especially about the titles and the minor issues you ran into. Feel way more confident about Hale Motor Group now. I'm going to register and put a bid on that F-150. Thanks again!
